Day 1 Arrival To Addis Ababa - City Tour

Upon your arrival in Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia, you will be greeted by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel. Addis Ababa is a vibrant city that showcases the rich cultural diversity of Ethiopia. After settling in, you will start your tour by visiting the Mercato, one of the largest open-air markets in Africa. Here, you will have the opportunity to explore the bustling marketplace and witness the vibrant trade of goods, including traditional crafts, spices, and textiles. You will also visit the Anuwar mosque, an important Islamic place of worship in Addis Ababa.

Day 2: In Addis Ababa

Today, you will remain in Addis Ababa and visit the Awalia Islamic teachings school. This school is dedicated to teaching the Holy Quran to both children and adults, providing them with a strong foundation in the principles and teachings of Islam. During your visit, you will have the chance to interact with the students and teachers, gaining insights into their educational practices and the significance of Islamic education in Ethiopia.

Day 3 Fly Addis Ababa- Axum

After breakfast, you will take a domestic flight from Addis Ababa to Axum, a historic city located in the northern part of Ethiopia. From Axum, you will embark on a day trip to Yeha, an ancient town known for its archaeological site. Yeha is home to the Temple of the Moon, an imposing structure that dates back to the 5th century BC. You will also explore Axum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its obelisks, ancient tombs, and the Church of St. Mary of Zion, which is believed to house the Ark of the Covenant.

Day 4 Drive Axum - Al Nejashi

Today, you will drive from Axum to the Al Nejashi Mosque, located in the Tigray region of northern Ethiopia. Al Nejashi Mosque holds great historical and religious significance, as it is believed to be one of the oldest mosques in Africa. According to legend, when the early Muslims faced persecution in Mecca, they sought refuge in Ethiopia, and the King of Axum, based on the request of Prophet Muhammad, granted them asylum. Day 5 Al Nejashi

You will spend a full day at the Al Nejashi Mosque, immersing yourself in its serene and spiritual atmosphere. You will have the opportunity to observe and participate in prayers, witness the devotion of the local Muslim community, and learn about the mosque’s history and cultural importance. The mosque’s architecture, adorned with intricate designs and vibrant colors, adds to its beauty and charm.

Day 6 Drive Al Nejashi -Mekele - Showa Robit

Drive Mekele to Showa Robit  to visit different islamic heritages sites. One of the attractions we visit is called The Norah Village and worship places that was a seat and worship place from the 13th to the 16th century.

Day 7 Showa Robit - Addis Ababa

Today we drive 15 kilometers from Shewa Robit town to Goze Mosque.
The Goze mosque surrounded by breathtaking landscapes has huge historical significance in Ethiopia’s Islamic history. It is believed that 40 mosques were built on the 8th century by the followers of Prophet Mohammed that settled and thought Islam for many years.

Day 8 Fly Addis - Harar

Upon arrival to Diredawa airport, drive 30kms to Harar city. In Harar
Today will dedicate our day to explore Harar and its 99 mosques, which are scattered throughout the city. Harar is known as the “City of Saints” due to its significant religious heritage. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to explore the narrow, winding streets of the old town, visit the ancient city walls, and experience the vibrant markets and traditional houses. You will also have the chance to visit the Harar Museum, which showcases the city’s rich history and cultural traditions.

Throughout your tour, your guide will provide you with detailed information about Islam in Ethiopia, its historical and cultural significance, and its influence on the local communities. You will gain a deeper understanding of the diverse religious and cultural landscape of Ethiopia, as well as the enduring connections between Islam and the country’s history.

Day 9 Drive Harar - Diredawa - Fly Addis

We drive 30kms from Diredawa for our flight back to Addis Abeba. In addis visit the National museum and palace.

Later transfer to Hilton hotel for Overnight
