Day 1: Fly to Diredawa and Explore Harar Jugol
08:10 AM - 10:25 AM: Fly from Addis Ababa to Diredawa. Drive 30km to the ancient city of Harar. Morning: Explore Harar Jugol, the old walled city, admiring 16th-century walls and narrow alleyways. Visit the Grand Mosque and Sheikh Abadir Mosque. Afternoon: Browse colorful local markets for spices and traditional crafts. Visit the Cultural Museum housed in a former palace. Evening: Traditional Harari dinner at a local restaurant. 08:30 PM: witness the famous 'Hyena Man' feeding wild hyenas. Overnight at Harar Ras Hotel.
Day 2: Aweday Chat Market and Return to Addis
Morning: 08:30 AM: Start exploring the hidden gems of the walled city. Drive towards Diredawa with a stop at Aweday city to see the world-famous Kchat (Chat) market, a major center for Ethiopia's stimulant plant trade. Lunch: Traditional meal in Diredawa. Afternoon: Visit Saint Augustine Catholic Church and the historic train station. 05:00 PM: Check-in at Diredawa airport for your return flight to Addis Ababa (06:25 PM - 07:35 PM).
