Morning: Early transfer to Bole International Airport for your 06:45 AM flight to Semera Upon arrival, meet your expedition team and drive four hours to Lake Afdera. Afternoon:Witness traditional salt mining and enjoy a therapeutic swim in the hyper-saline waters of the lake, followed by cold drinks. Continue the drive across the desert crust to the base of the volcano [4, 19]. Evening: As temperatures cool, embark on a one-hour hike to the rim of Erta Ale. Dine at the crater's edge while watching the dramatic activity of the flowing lava Accommodation: Camping by the rim of the volcano Meals: L, D.
Morning: Wake up for a stunning sunrise view over the lava lake. After a hearty breakfast of eggs and cereals, hike back down to the jeeps and begin the desert crossing toward Dallol. Afternoon: Stop for lunch under the shade of a bridge before heading to the small Afar village of Hamedela. At 4:30 PM, drive to the Salt Lake to witness a picturesque sunset reflecting off the salt flats. Evening: Relish a group dinner at the campsite under the vast expanse of the desert stars Accommodation: Camping at Hamedela campsite Meals: B, L, D.
Morning: Explore the otherworldly hydrothermal fields of Dallol, visiting potash lakes, acid springs, and local salt mines Afternoon: Begin a three-hour drive to Mekele city Enjoy a final celebratory lunch in Mekele before transferring to the airport for your evening flight back to Addis Ababa Evening: Arrival in Addis Ababa and transfer to your hotel.
