Ancient History

Ethiopia has a history spanning over 5,000 years, tracing back to the legendary Kingdom of Aksum and Biblical tales. It is also home to 'Lucy,' one of the oldest hominid skeletons ever discovered.

Varied Landscapes

From the soaring 4,500m peaks of the Simien Mountains to the volcanic, surreal Danakil Depression (The lowest and hottest places on Earth).

Rich Diversity

With over 80 distinct ethnic groups and more than 80 languages spoken, Ethiopia's cultural tapestry is vibrant and incredibly diverse.

Unmatched Hospitality

Ethiopians are known for their profound warmth, deeply ingrained hospitality, and the beautiful, communal coffee ceremonies that bring people together.

13 Months of Sunshine

13 Months of Sunshine

Ethiopia follows its own ancient solar calendar, the Ethiopian calendar, which consists of 12 months of 30 days each, plus a 13th month of 5 or 6 days depending on whether it is a leap year. So when you visit Ethiopia, you really do get 13 months of sunshine!

It is also the only country in Africa that was never formally colonized, retaining its fierce independence, unique script (Ge'ez), and distinct cultural identity.
