Ethiopia Tourist Visa On Arrival
Ethiopia has officially launched a Visa-On-Arrival service for tourists from various Countries and nationalities. Please find below the lists of countries and nationalities eligible for Tourist visas on arrival.

Ethiopia Tourist e-VISA
All countries in the globe are eligible Electronic visa or eVisa eligible countries.
Tourist Visa-VT
A tourist visa is an electronic single-entry visa issued by the Ethiopian Government for visitors who wish to travel to the country for tourism or other non-business-related purposes only.
Eligibility
Citizens of all countries in the globe are eligible for tourist visa provided that the below requirements are fulfilled.
Ethiopia Visa Requirements or required documents for Tourists and travelers
Copy of the following documents is mandatory.
• Recent passport-size photo of the applicant.
• Passport of the visa applicant which is valid for at least 6 months from the intended date of entry to Ethiopia.
Processing Time
Under normal circumstances, the processing time for a Tourist Visa is 3 days. So, travelers should submit their application at least 3 days before their estimated date of arrival
Duration and Validity
The Validity of the Visa starts counting from the date intended to enter Ethiopia.

Extension
Travelers can request for an extension before the visa expires in which expired date 1-15 days extend by online and visa expired date above 15 extended by going in person to the Head Office of the Immigration And Citizenship Service (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia). Travelers who stay beyond the validity period without extending are subject to fines and legal penalties.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ETHIOPIAN e-VISA
Please refer the following requirements for Ethiopian e-VISA
• Nationals of African States who can’t make e-Visa payment online can apply online and make the payment on arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport in cash.
• Please carefully read and comply to the important notices and guidelines stated in each step of the application form.
• The validity of Ethiopian e-Visa starts from the date you intend to enter Ethiopia not from date of issue.
• Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you intend to enter Ethiopia.
• e-Visa application fees are not refundable
• A passport size photo and scanned copy of passport is required.
• People with dual nationality should choose the nationality according to the passport to be used for the travel.
• Note that business visa is not issued to individuals under the age of 18. Parents who come to Ethiopia with business visa along with their children can apply tourist visa for their children.
• Please note that we do not accept credit card payment transactions of applicants originating from the below countries effective 18 November 2020.
• Cuba, Iraq, Sudan, Yemen, Somalia, North Korea , Afghanistan, South Sudan ,Crimea region of Ukraine,Syrian Arab Republic
Journalist Visa – JV
Journalist visa is issued to foreign Journalists, media professionals or film makers, coming to cover events, report for media organizations or produce films, TV or written material of various kinds.
Requirements
Copy of the following documents is mandatory.
• Recent passport-size photo of the applicant.
• Passport of the visa applicant which is valid for at least 6 months from the intended date of entry to Ethiopia.
• A letter of support not expired more than one week from the media institution of the country to which the person was invited
Processing Time
Under normal circumstances, the processing time for Journalist Visa – JV is 3 days. So, travelers should submit their application at least 3 days before their estimated date of arrival
Duration and Validity
The Validity of the Visa starts counting from the date intended to enter Ethiopia.
Fee
For single-entry 30-days Journalist Visa, the application fee is 152 USD.
Extension
Journalist visa can’t be extended.
Business and Related Studies Visa (BRV)
Applicants who apply for a BRV are foreign nationals who are entering Ethiopia to do business and market research.
Requirements
The applicant is required to present the following:
• Recent passport-sized photograph
• A passport which is valid for at least six (6) months from the intended entry date
• Bank statement
• Company Profile
• Application letter
Duration and Validity
The validity of the visa starts from the date of intended entry. Applicants can apply for one of the following two BRVs:
• Single entry, 30-day BRV
• Multiple entry 90-day BRV

Extension
