Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arba Minch

Morning:
Arrive in Arba Minch, where you’ll be welcomed by the stunning landscapes of the Rift Valley.
Midday:
Cultural Experience: Visit the Dorze tribe, renowned for their unique cotton weaving and traditional huts shaped like enormous beehives. Engage with local artisans and explore the vibrant community.
Afternoon:
Lake Chamo Boat Trip: Enjoy a leisurely boat trip over the picturesque Lake Chamo, famous for its diverse wildlife, including hippos and crocodiles. Keep your camera ready for stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the opportunity to spot mesmerizing bird species.
Evening:
Check in at Haile Resorts, where you can unwind and savor a delicious dinner featuring local flavors, with panoramic views of the lake.

Day 2: Arba Minch to Konso and Turmi
Morning:
Depart from Arba Minch and embark on a scenic journey to Konso.
Konso Village Exploration: Discover the rich cultural heritage of the Konso people, known for their intricately terraced farming and wooden totems called “waka.” Learn about their vibrant traditions and unique agricultural techniques.
Midday:
Market Stop: On your way to Turmi, pause at a weekly market bustling with energy. Experience local trade, sample exotic fruits, and interact with the colorful local vendors selling handicrafts and spices.
Evening:
Arrive at Buska Lodge/Emerald Lodge, a charming retreat set amidst Turmi.

Day 3: Turmi to Omorate and Cultural Visits
Morning:
Dasenech Tribe Visit: Drive south of Omo towards Kenya border to visit the Dasenech tribe. Head towards the banks of the Omo River to meet the tribe. Immerse yourself in their way of life, characterized by their traditional dress and vibrant cultural expressions.
Midday:
Karo Tribe Experience: After your visit, return to Turmi and journey to meet the Karo tribe. Observe their mesmerizing body painting and experience their unique cultural practices.
Afternoon:
Nyangatom Tribe Visit: Return from Karo to visit the Nyangatom tribe, known for their striking attire and customs. Engage in storytelling, dance, and traditional ceremonies.
Evening:
Hamar Tribe Experience: Conclude your cultural exploration by visiting the Hamar tribe, famous for their distinctive rituals, including the traditional "jumping of the bulls." Experience their lively dance performances and rich traditions before heading back to Turmi for the night.
Overnight Buska Lodge/Emerald Lodge

Note:- The bull jumping ceremony is a ritual that can happen in case there is a wedding. We can not guarantee availability.

Day 4: Departure from Arba Minch
Morning: Begin your journey back to Arba Minch. Enjoy the serene landscapes one last time as you travel through the southern highlands.
Afternoon: Catch your flight back to Addis Ababa, reflecting on the incredible cultural experiences of the past few days as you depart from this unique region.
